    Subject: Most underrated player?

    The debate of most overrated player has been addressed fully not who for the most underrated player? I'm talking about all the unsung heroes that do their job to telling effect but don't get the praise they deserve. Who in your opinion fits that description?

    Manchester United : The first English champions of Europe. 1968, 1999, 2008

    There are a few for me;

    Mikel Arteta, Gamst Pederson, Tevez (Whilst not vastly under-rated, I still think he's under-rated in being much better than most people assume), Wright-Phillips (Maybe a strange one to include, but I believe there is massive potential for him to be a very good player), Chris Eagles, G. Rossi, Gabrielle Abonglahor

    Eagles isn't that good, Rossi never lived up to his hype when he played for the first team at Man Utd, but has picked his performances up in Spain.  Neville extremely under-rated, if you disagree just watch Wes Brown make a shambles of covering for him.

     Wes Brown is under-rated to hell. Amazing defender and a true player. United legend. The most under-rated player in the World. Along with Juninho and Gamst Pedersen.

    Sagna and Hleb

    If both were English...

    Sagna I agree with, but as I mention on the overrated thread, Hleb is just a waste of time. 3 goals this season, from an attack minded midfielder? All huff and puff, no end product. Some of his passing has been woeful and his blatant dives embarrassing. Interesting how he has recently had a slight pop at the club over the lack of silverware, given how his contributions have done nothing to address the problem.

    He's not under-rated at all he is shaft! he's just a crapper version of Ashley Cole really, hence why he tried to force Man United into giving him a 6 figure weekly salary, only settling for less because if we let him go he would never in a million years join a club of equal calibre.  He's been terrible cover for Gary Neville, who IS a United Legend.

    Javier mascherano

    Gareth Barry

    Ricardo carvalho (a really excellent defender who is never given credit)

    Craig Gordon (brilliant keeper with an amazingly crap defence to protect him)

     I think Rafael Van der Vaart. Had he moved Chelsea or Man U he would be world class. But he moved to HamburgSV

     The Man Utd squad players who don't get all the headlines but come in do what is required of them whilst playing for the top team in england are all vastly underated and although most fans wouldn't admit it they would love to have squad players the calibre of O'Shea, Fletcher and Park.

    Also Michael Carrick is probably the most underated player in Utds team, Carrick is a class act in midfield who can dictate a game when he is on top form

    I have been watching Brown this season, I have seen every second of his season and frankly he is rubbish, positional sense of a plant pot and a first touch to match.
